Verdadeira Bhūta‑śuddhi significa meditar no siddha‑deha almejado.

====================

Bhūta‑śuddhi means that the devotee purifies his or her identity by identifying himself or herself as a servant of the servant of the servant of Śrī Kṛṣṇa.

For this, one recites the famous verse gopī‑bhartuḥ pada‑kamalayor dāsa‑dāsānudāsaḥ, which states: "I am not a Brāhmaṇa, Kṣatriya ... but I am a servant of the servant of the servant of Śrī Kṛṣṇa."

No devotional activity is complete without first performing Bhūta‑śuddhi.

But Bhūta‑śuddhi that consists only of identifying oneself as a servant, without establishing a specific relationship, is incomplete.

It will not be capable by itself of Śuddhi (purifying) Bhūta (the ego).

True Bhūta‑śuddhi means meditating on the desired siddha‑deha.

Śrī Jīva Gosvāmi, in Bhakti‑sandarbha 286, establishes that true Bhūta‑śuddhi is related to meditation on the desired siddha‑deha:

bhūta‑śuddhir nija‑abhilāṣita‑bhagavat‑sevopayika‑tat‑pārṣada‑deha‑bhāvana‑paryantaiva tat‑sevāika‑puruṣārthibhiḥ kāryā nija‑anukūlyāt | evaṁ yatra yatrātmano nija‑abhīṣṭa‑devatā‑rūpatvena cintanaṁ vidhīyate, tatra tatraiva pārṣadatve grahaṇaṁ bhāvyam

“Although there are many types of Bhūta‑śuddhi, its final form is to think of oneself in a body suitable for serving the Lord according to one’s personal desire. This is the practice that should be followed by those who desire only service to the Lord. Whatever form or particular situation the devotee thinks of in relation to his Iṣṭa‑devatā (chosen Deity), he/she should identify himself/herself as a corresponding associate of the Lord present in that very place.”

Bhāvyam here indicates that this must be done, that it is not optional.

This is further evidence that Rāgānugā‑sādhana‑bhakti is not executed in the perfect stage, but during the stage of sādhana.

Śuddhi (purifying) Bhūta (the ego) is done in the conditioned stage and not in the perfect stage.

Bhūta‑śuddhi is performed in the conditioned stage (sādhana). There is no Bhūta‑śuddhi in bhāva and prema. In bhāva and prema, the material ego no longer needs to be purified.
