Once Srila Prabhupada, there was some argument going on between Srila Prabhupada's disciples: which form is supreme, Krsna or Caitanya Mahaprabhu?Some argument was going on because Krsna is supreme and Caitanya Mahaprabhu comes as his devotee and a devotee is subordinate to the Prabhu, to the Lord. So some discussion was going on because Caitanya is avatari, avatarara sar caitanya avatara, he is non-different from Krsna. Some discussion was going on, which form is superior.
Prabhupada pointed to a picture of Krsna bowing down to the lotus feet of Radha. He said, "Radha is superior. Not Krsna, not Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Radha is superior because Krsna has to come as Caitanya Mahaprabhu to understand the position of Radha." So this is radhar mahima, to proclaim the glories of Radharani, by himself being forced to take the gaura-svarupa.Krsna varnam tvisakrsnam, Krsna who is Syamasundara is obliged to take the form of Gaurasundara to taste the sweetness of Radharani and broadcast it:
radhar mahima, prema-rasa-sima
What are the glories of Radharani? She's not maintaining, creating and destroying millions of universes. She's not the one who most rsis and demigods. . . who is that? The demigods are praying to Krsna, they don't pray to Radha. What is her power? Her greatness is prema-rasa-sima. She is the ultimate limit. There is not limit to her love for Krsna. It is said like that, she is the ultimate limit. She is . . . there are no words to explain. She is prema-svarupini, mahabhava-svarupini.
