Ela estava tão atraída pela guirlanda que ela correu e perguntou: "Onde você conseguiu isso? É lindo!"
Eu disse a ela que era do nosso Templo - e agora era dela! Coloquei a guirlanda nela. Ela ficou atônita. Ela disse: "Não, não, não posso usá-la, não a mereço." Eu disse: "Sim, você merece!"
Ela estava tão feliz que usou a guirlanda o resto do dia e comprou alguns dos livros de Srila Prabhupada.
Polícia e agentes de segurança piedosos obtêm livros.
Outro dia, eu estava em uma Universidade onde um recrutamento policial estava a ocorrer. Eu vi alguns policiais que estavam usando armas vir à minha mesa. Elas sorriram. Elas apertaram minha mão e disseram o quão felizes estavam de ver esta mesa. Uma polícia disse que fez um retiro de meditação em Vrindavana e Varanasi. Ela estava animada para obter alguns livros.
Depois de dar uma doação, ela comprou mais livros para outros policiais. Eu estava pensando sobre a mudança de anos atrás, quando a polícia, por vezes, assediava os distribuidores de livros. Agora, às vezes a polícia vem até nós com alegria e amizade.
Brighupati Dasa observou que o mundo está mudando quando policiais da América vão a Vrindavana para meditar.

While distributing books from a table at a local college, I had one of the garlands of Sri Sri Rukmini-Dvarkadisa (the Los Angeles Deities) on the book table. The garland attracted people with its beautiful colors and fragrance. It particularly caught the attention of a female security officer.
She was so attracted to the garland that she ran over and said, "Where did you get this? It's beautiful!"
I told her that it was from our temple — and now it is hers! I put it over her head. She was stunned. She said, "No, no, I can't wear it. I don't deserve it."
I said, “Yes, you do!”
She was so happy that she wore it the rest of the day and bought some of Srila Prabhupada's books.
Pious police and security officers get books
Another day, I was at a college where a police recruitment was going on. I saw some police officers who were wearing guns coming to my table. They smiled. They shook my hand and said how happy they were to see this table. A policewoman said that she did a mediation retreat in Vrindavana and Varanasi. She was excited to get some books.
After giving a donation, she bought more books for other policemen. I was thinking about the change from years ago, when the police sometimes harassed book distributors. Now, sometimes the police come to us in joy and friendship.
Brighupati Dasa remarked that the world is changing when cops in America go to Vrindavana to meditate.
