"Uma das secções difíceis de atravessar no Bhāgavata-sandarbha de Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī é a descrição de Bhagavān (o Senhor Supremo) e como Ele interage com Suas energias.
Em um dos Anucchedas (secções), ele fala sobre como a interacção de Bhagavān com a energia marginal resulta na geração das entidades vivas.
Minha esposa e eu estávamos discutindo esta secção específica e achei difícil de entender. Depois, após alguma reflexão, expliquei-lhe o seguinte:
"Comparemos Bhagavān a um bloco ilimitado de queijo, um bloco que é ilimitado em tamanho e nem cresce e nem diminui. A energia marginal é como um ralador que, quando entra em contato com Bhagavān, resulta na geração de pequenas e ilimitadas frações de queijo - como partes fracionadas conhecidas como Jīvas que são armazenadas no ilimitado e grande recipiente conhecido como o Brahma-jyoti."
Ao ouvir isto, ela disse: "Queijo me faz lembrar um sanduíche de queijo. Devemos fazer sanduíche de queijo esta noite?"
Minha resposta: "Bem, este era o objectivo da analogia".

"One of the difficult to traverse sections in the Bhāgavata-sandarbha is Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī's description of Bhagavān (the Supreme Lord) and how He interacts with His energies.
In one of the Anucchedas (sections), he speaks about how Bhagavān's interaction with the marginal energy results in the generation of the living entities.
My wife and myself were discussing this specific section and found it difficult to understand. Then after some thought, I explained to her as follows:
"Let Bhagavān be compared to an unlimited block of cheese. A block that is unlimited in size and neither grows nor shrinks. The marginal energy is like a grater which when comes in contact with Bhagavān, results in the generation of unlimited tiny fractions of cheese-like fractional parts known as Jīvas which get stored in the unlimitedly large container known as the Brahma-jyoti."
On hearing this she said, "Cheese reminds me of cheese sandwich. Should we make cheese sandwich tonight?"
My reply: "Well that was the whole point of the analogy."
